Agra, Uttar Pradesh
Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a massive red sandstone and marble fort built by Akbar in 1565, later home to Shah Jahan. The fort contains palaces, mosques, halls of audience, and most importantly — the Musamman Burj tower from which Shah Jahan reportedly gazed at the Taj Mahal after being imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb. This tower offers one of the most historic and photogenic views of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River.
